Each year on Census Day, the government calculates a portion of our funding based on the number of children having a school meal – both free school meals and Universal Free School Meals count. The more meals served, the more funding our school receives. Census day this year is Thursday 2 October. We are running a special menu to encourage more children to try something new, and this is now live on School Grid to book.

The school census also helps determine:

Pupil Premium (extra funding for disadvantaged pupils)
Early Years Entitlement
PE and Sports Premium
Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) support

In summary: Ordering a school meal on Census Day and ensuring your child attends school can significantly help our school secure important funding. Even if your child doesn’t usually eat school dinners, just one meal on that day counts.
