Our Worship Team are a specially selected group of children who hold regular meetings to discuss our vision, values and worship in school.
The team leads collective worship on a regular basis and use the church lectionary as their theme in the Christian year along with themes that are relevant for the children at that time of year. They present a worship for the whole school which is often insightful and interesting for both the staff and pupils!
The Worship Council plays a vital role in the development of worship within our school.
The aims are:
- To develop ways of ensuring that each and every member of All Saints CE Academy has time and space to think, reflect and connect with themselves, others and God.
- To play an active part in the planning and deliverance of pupil-led worship.
- To identify children who they spot demonstrating our school vision and values.
Even if a child is not a Worship Council representative they play an important part in demonstrating daily the Christian values that we are proud of. All children are encouraged to spot others carrying out the school values that show our Christian character and ethos.
Each year our Worship Team visit All Saints Church in Denstone, to join the worship teams from St Augustine’s, Draycott-in-the-Clay and St Peters, Alton for a spiritual ambassador and worship leader training day. Take a look at the things they got up to here.
Spiritual Ambassador Day 2024
We had a wonderful day working with our Christian Distinctiveness Advisor. The focus this year was prayer. We considered lots of different ways to pray. We thought about the categories: me, others, please, thank you and sorry. We loved confetti prayers, we took a pinch of confetti and put it into a central place; while we were doing this we thought about who we wanted to pray for and why. One of our favourite prayers was the ‘love heart’ prayer. We put a love heart on our tongue and waited for it to dissolve. While it was dissolving we thought about who we loved, who we found hard to love and people who don’t know that they are loved.
