JCB Careers Talk! 🚜

Our latest careers talk was delivered by Mark, a Demonstration Driver from JCB. Mark shared his career journey, explaining how he got started in the role and describing the key skills needed to become a digger driver. He spoke about the importance of practice, precision and dedication, giving the children a fascinating insight into this exciting career.

The highlight of the visit was seeing the digger in action! Mark demonstrated some of the impressive manoeuvres that are performed during display events, including creating a bridge with the machine. The children were amazed by the skill and control involved.

To round off a fantastic session, every child went home with a JCB cap and a pack of JCB Top Trumps cards as a special souvenir.

A huge thank you to Mark and JCB for an engaging and memorable experience that inspired our pupils and helped them learn more about careers in engineering and construction.

If you think you can help with one of our careers talks please let the school office know.

💛 HELLO YELLOW DAY – FRIDAY 9TH OCTOBER! 💛

This Friday, we’ll be turning All Saints CE Acadamy YELLOW in support of YoungMinds and their fantastic #HelloYellow campaign! 🌟

In support of raising awareness and funds for young people's mental health, we are inviting children to wear something yellow on Friday alongside their normal PE kit. This could be a pair of yellow socks, a hairband, or another yellow accessory.

🎯 Our fundraising target is £100, and you do not have to have a child in our school to donate. All donations can be made directly to YoungMinds through our school fundraising page or brought into school:
https://fundraise.youngminds.org.uk/fundraisers/AllSaintsCEAcademyDenstone

Thank you for helping us to support this wonderful cause. 💛💛💛

Forest School Friday!

🍂🌧️ Linking with our science topic on weather and autumn rain, we worked together to build a simple shelter using a tarpaulin to help keep us dry.
As Friday’s weather is often wet, it was the perfect opportunity to test our shelter out! We enjoyed sitting inside, staying cosy and dry while having our snacks, and were delighted to see how well our shelter worked. 😊

Discord gives young people a space to chat, play games and join communities based around shared interests.

While it can be a positive way to connect with friends, there are also important risks for parents and educators to understand.

Our latest #WakeUpWednesday guide highlights:
• Contact with strangers
• Harassment and harmful behaviour
• Exposure to inappropriate content
• Gaming and socialising becoming a distraction
• Spending and subscription risks

It also shares practical advice on using Discord’s Family Centre, reviewing privacy and spending settings, talking openly about suspicious behaviour and agreeing clear expectations around screen time.
