As Church of England schools, we are passionate about the teaching of Religious Education and value its place highly in our curriculum provision. We have worked together with our advisor from the Lichfield Diocese, to create our long-term plans. They include units from Understanding Christianity and the Staffordshire Locally Agreed Syllabus. Our teaching is heavily focussed on Christianity but we are committed to teaching our children about other world religions to enable them to flourish in our diverse multicultural society.

We enhance the teaching of RE by planning relevant and exciting trips. We have visited the Jewish Synagogue Museum in Manchester and have been on the Faith Trail in Derby, recently visiting a mosque to support our teaching of the Islamic faith.

We are closely linked with our local church and welcome our vicar and curate into school each week where they lead Collective Worship.  Services we hold in church are always well attended and enjoyed by all. As well as taking part in special services, the church also acts as a resource when teaching about Christianity.
