PE has a high profile at our school. Our pupils have two hours curriculum PE each week.

We have used our Sports Premium money carefully over the years to ensure sustainability. Staff completed an audit and we have employed specialist coaches to team teach in order to upskill our teachers in areas they felt they needed support. This has resulted in highly skilled staff who teach PE to a very high standard.

Physical activity is closely linked to mental health and wellbeing and we believe passionately in promoting good mental and physical health.

We have a strong link with Denstone Preparatory School and attend  tournaments there each year. We are  proud of how our pupils support and champion one another!

We are proud to be one of the few first schools to offer weekly swimming lessons for pupils in Years 3 and 4. These sessions, held at Denstone College, provide a valuable opportunity for children to develop essential water safety skills. Regular practice helps build confidence in the water while supporting physical fitness and overall wellbeing.

Each year we hold a whole school sports day which is incredibly competitive! It is a chance for pupils to shine on the sports field in races that include; egg and spoon, sack, skipping and the relay. The afternoon is finished off with a Mums and Dads race which is the most competitive race of the day!

We hold a number of sporting after school clubs over the year which include; Dance Club run by a local specialist teacher and a football club run by  Soccerstars.
